Um...hi everyone. Since people died on that Draft, I thought I'd offer to do something. Just in case they don't come back.

[He looks apprehensive before continuing.]

I know how to do funeral rites and stuff. At least the ones from my world. Some of the magic I can cast draws power from the lord of death and the underworld, so...I kinda know a lot about death.

[It's an understatement, but he is for all intents and purposes a child rather than the lord of death and the underworld that he referred to.used to be.

Wouldn't funeral rites be rather hasty? What if they simply returned home to a life lived in that world?

Well, there's no way to know for sure, and I've heard it gives closure to the living who are mourning...

I'd imagine you'd want to be fairly certain once you're invoking the lord of death. But perhaps you're misrepresenting the details of your power.

Misrepresenting? I just want to help people who are grieving.

And I wouldn't be surprised if some would take you up on that offer.

Some cultures have strong connections to their own funeral rites. Do your services extend to learning another culture's way of honoring the dead and performing accordingly?

Well, if they're willing to teach me or get me books to read about it, I don't mind.

Is it something you do back home?

Sometimes. I was one of the only sorcerers in the town I was staying in for a couple of years, and the one who was best at drawing on the lord of death's power. I've taken care of ghost problems sometimes, too.

Is the lord of death a common power source in your world?

Not common, no. Partially because magic draws from both the caster and the source. So with a powerful being like the lord of death, you've got to have a high magic capacity.

Otherwise they'll take magic from you?

If you don't have a high magic capacity, you can exhaust yourself with one spell. Even pass out!

That sounds to me like you'd just need to make sure that that one spell was all you need. I'd imagine it wouldn't be that much of a deterrent without terrible, long-lasting consequences.
