[Phibrizzo has a magical tome in his lap when he looks into his journal for this video broadcast. It's interesting, the things one can find in the library. He's learned a bit about magic in other worlds.]

Just curious, but how many people here practice magic, or come from a world where people use magic?

[This inquiring mind wants to know. Specifically, he wants to know who poses the most potential threat, but from an academic standpoint, he is sincerely interested as well. In that vein, he shares a little bit of information about his own world.]

There are more people who can't use it than those who can in my world, but it's still common enough for there to be a Sorcerer's Guild where magic is formally taught. A lot of people who can't use magic directly can still use magic objects made by a sorcerer.

[Including brass rackets. He'd like to get some of those here in Luceti and introduce the sport. The chaos and hilarity would be well worth it. But that's not the point of today's broadcast.]

I've also noticed there are a lot of people with powers here. If you have them, are there a lot of people who have them in your world? And if you don't have them, are there people in your world who do have them? I'm kind of curious if there's some kind of thing that makes people more likely to wind up here.

You have dragons over where you are too? That's amazing! I've only seen dragons in storybooks. It's a shame there's never any stories about nice dragons, just evil ones who poison water and eat princesses.

The dragons who aren't brutal killers in my world are snobs. Of course, they're beings of human-level intelligence who can live to be well over a thousand years old so they do know a lot. So I guess it makes sense for them to be so stuck up.

... I think I might be a little snobby too if I could breathe fire and fly and was five hundred feet tall.

The snobbiest ones are only about fifty feet tall when they're fully grown. But they're also the most powerful and the ones capable of taking a human-shaped form. The only thing that gives them away is their gold coloured eyes.

Well fifty feet is still really impressive! And they can change shape, that's pretty amazing too! I mean, I'd be impressed.

[brat_from_hell]

It is pretty impressive. Although I come from a family of powerful sorcerers and sorceresses. Every person in my family is capable of killing dragons if we really wanted to because we can cast spells that draw power from gods. Even me.

[Pause.]

I'd rather leave them be for the most part. Unless they think they can turn me into a snack.

Oh! Well then... I... hope that doesn't happen, I mean, being snobby really isn't a good reason for anyone to die...

[brat_from_hell]

Oh, I wouldn't start a fight with them for no good reason or kill them just for being snobby. I'd kill them for trying to kill me first. I don't want to get eaten, you know.

Sounds like a good idea. Wouldn't it just be better to... make friends with them? I mean if they can turn themselves into humans, you can invite them over for dinner or something. Or at least a nice brunch or coffee or tea.

[Friends? Ha. Hahahaha. The dragons and his kind are prettymuch at odds by default.]

Oh, they're not interested in making friends with someone like me. Like I said, they are snobs. Even with sorcerers who can fight them. The best we can really manage is just politely agreeing to leave each other alone.

Well that's a shame... I think I'd rather have someone who can eat me be friends with me. Seems kind of like asking for trouble if you're not.

I suppose. It can't really be helped, though. Both sides have to want to be friends.

... But someone has to extend the olive branch first!

Extend the olive branch...?

[Someone's never heard that expression used on his world before.]

What's that going to do when you're dealing with dragons?

[13sugars]

It's... well. An olive branch is a symbol of peace! So to extend the olive branch means to be the first to start talking about peace. Have to start somewhere.

[brat_from_hell]

Well, they could start by not eating people. I think that's a good way to start talking about peace.

[13sugars]

Well in return, maybe certain sorcerers shouldn't blow them up?

[brat_from_hell]

I only blow them up when they attack me. So if they don't attack me, then there's no problem.

I think someone needs to write someone a very nice letter.

And hope that the dragons don't just roast it and scoff that people dared suggest they change?

There has to be at least one or two nice dragons out there.

Maybe. I've never met any who weren't either stuck up or just determined to eat people and set things on fire, though.

Well if I was there, I'd ask.

That would be very brave of you. Are you sure you wouldn't be scared?
